What may cause condom allergy?

Condom allergies are usually caused by a sensitivity or allergy to certain ingredients in condoms, such as latex, spermicides, and lubricants. People who have latex allergies may also experience a reaction to other types of condoms. In some cases, the chemicals used to manufacture condoms can trigger an allergic reaction. If you suspect that you may be allergic to condoms, it is important to speak with your doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Since so many different reasons can cause an allergic reaction, it is often difficult to discover what the problem is. It is possible, however, to classify the types of allergies and their causes. The most common causes are:

– proteins in natural rubber (latex proteins)
– rubber chemicals (such as chemical accelerators: thiurams, carbamates and mercaptobenzothiazoles)
– preservatives (antioxidants)
– vulcanising agents (sulphur)
– scents (including perfume) and flavours
– lubricant
– other additives (such as Nonoxynol-9)

Not all condoms are the same, so you may experience problems with one brand which you won’t have with another one. We can offer you the opportunity to try out condoms from different types. If you are allergic to latex, please use non latex condoms such as polyurethane condoms. As a custom maker, we can custom produce your own brand non latex condom, welcome email us:
